Twaha Kyomuhendo Basamba

Graduate Architect

B. Arch (MUSA)

Twaha is a graduate architect at Regenesys. He works closely with the project management team to deliver projects of different building typologies through actively engaging and communicating with clients, originating and synthesizing designs from concept to detailed design level.

He is also in charge of coordinating with other stakeholders such as sub-consultants, municipal authorities and contractors to ensure compliance and management of projects so that they are delivered to the required standards in a timely manner.

He attained his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Makerere University where he is also currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning and Design.

Prior to joining Regenesys, he was a graduate trainee in the architecture division of Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT) where he was exposed to government policy formulation and regulatory frameworks, for the built environment.

A Next generation ambassador for the Holcim foundation; Twaha is passionate about sustainable urban design and the need to find solutions that accommodate all social classes. He gained recognition from the Holcim Awards 2018, for his team’s entry titled “The Urban Nomads Niche”, a speculative design solution to the street vendor crisis in Kampala; which proposed solutions on how to incorporate street vendors into a legible city scape.

He is currently working on a project called the “Clinic of Care Tanzania, a maternity ward for Nkwesho” https://www.holcimfoundation.org/clinic-of-care, where he and three other Next Generation Ambassadors worked on the ideation, design, collaboration with the local community as well as student mentorship and pedagogical assistance to the various students that took part in the projects design workshop. He is currently in charge of construction coordination, planning and reporting for the project.
